Center for Global Health Policy and Politics

About

The Center for Global Health Policy & Politics is a cross-campus collaboration between the Georgetown University Law Center and Georgetown University School of Health, working at the intersection of law, political science, and global health. We research how legal and political institutions work at national and international level. And we explore and address the political determinants of health and support the creation of legal and policy environments that help stop pandemics, expand equity in access to medical technologies, address women’s health and sexual health, tackle inequalities, and save lives.

Our Work

The Center’s multidisciplinary team includes political and social scientists, lawyers, physicians, epidemiologists, and policy experts with decades of experience in global policy. We work around the world, conducting research and policy analysis, convening thought leaders, building capacity through collaboration, and partnering with governments, international organizations, and civil society groups to support law and policy change on issues from global governance to women’s health and pandemics. We have been designated a United Nations Collaborating Centre on Inequality, AIDS, and Pandemics. The Center promotes the education of the next generation of leaders and change-makers, building a deep understanding of the impact of power, politics, and policy on health systems and health outcomes worldwide.
