Center for Global Health Policy and Politics

Advanced HIV Disease

Engaging in evidence-based advocacy to advance timely scale-up and access to affordable optimal tools to screen, prevent, diagnose, and treat advanced HIV disease (AHD).

About

The Center for Global Health Policy & Politics engages national governments, global health actors, and industries to advance optimal policies and practices in order to urgently address unnecessary suffering and death caused by advanced HIV disease (AHD) — including the main drivers of mortality: tuberculosis and cryptococcal meningitis.

Our Work

As part of the HIV Policy Lab, our team tracks, analyzes, and advocates for optimal national AHD policies. We partner with civil society, including Fight AIDS Coalition (FAC), and global health organizations to advocate for timely scale-up and affordable access to life-saving AHD medical tools and services.

By amplifying the voices of civil society and affected communities, we seek to catalyze transnational advocacy. We foster mutual learning and co-develop key analyses, evidence, and engagement strategies to bolster national efforts.
